Several emails and texts and a 12-hour drive later, he came to Texas to visit and meet me in person. We spoke more often and used Skype as a way to 'see' each other. Let me give you some history before I continue. I was perfectly content being single! I was happy with Christ being the Man I needed in my life! Seriously. I'd given all of it to the Lord. I was so sick and tired of being sick and tired in the relationship world. I knew my worth and my heart belongs to Jesus Christ. And I was willing to live out the rest of my life serving Him, single or not. I know my mother wasn't completely happy with that decision. I understand that she wanted me to be with someone who loved me and could take care of me and help me get to heaven. Her intentions were good. However, I was ready to just leave it to God. It wasn't up to me anymore. I'm not sure many people know what it's like to just hand things over to Him. It's the most freeing feeling in the entire world! Letting God have it all, that's what it's all about. I've made mistakes because I'm human and humans are imperfect. Now that that's out of the way. Here's the rest. I received a phone call in August from the store that he worked at offering me a new [better] job. I called my mom and she said we'd plan a quick wedding. I put in my notice at my current store. For weeks, he'd planned to surprise me and propose. I had no idea. My entire family knew and I was told that it was a surprise baby shower for my baby sister. I was none the wiser. I got all dressed up and put makeup on and everything. My brother in law called to say that my baby sister was 'sick.' I was bummed because I'd put so much effort into getting dressed up and I rarely do that. However, my mother and I went shopping for the wedding and we spent so much time at one store. I'd cleaned the entire house earlier that day and my legs were like jelly. Little did I know that mom was stalling because my dad had to pick up Josh at the airport. I was told he had to 'work late.' Still had no clue as to what was happening. We finally get home and I'm changing clothes over from machine to the other in the laundry room and Josh showed up and proposed! How cute is that? I said yes!
